What is Nutrition Response Testing® and how does it work?

NRT Testing with Doug

Nutrition Response Testing® (NRT) is a safe, natural and non-invasive technique used to assess the body's nutritional deficiencies and imbalances. It involves testing the body's neurological reflexes by applying gentle pressure to specific points on the body while the Chiropractor observes for muscle responses. These responses are believed to indicate areas of weakness or imbalance in the body's organ systems. Testing covers organs, glands, joints, muscles, and more.

Rather than using electrodes (stickers with wires attached), the practitioner conducts the analysis by contacting your extended arm and the specific reflex area. If the reflex is stressed, the nervous system responds by reducing energy to the extended arm, causing it to weaken and drop. This drop signals underlying stress or dysfunction impacting your health.

Once the underlying stress is addressed, the weakened muscle response no longer exists. At your following appointment after your consultation, you'll receive understandable results in your Report of Findings and a personalized nutritional program, often including dietary recommendations and whole-food supplements. We may also require you to make some changes to your personal routines, in order to bring about the best possible results.

NRT aims to restore balance and support the body's natural healing processes because when we find and fix these problems using natural foods and nutrients, our bodies can heal and stay healthier.

What Conditions can Nutrition Response Testing® (NRT) be used to treat?

What sets this approach apart?

NRT Report of Findings

Unlike medical practices that diagnose and treat diseases, Nutrition Response Testing® analyzes and assesses your body's current health status.

Following this analysis, a personalized health improvement program is designed. In essence, we analyze first and then tailor a nutritional program to address the findings in your body and condition.

How long does Nutrition Response Testing® (NRT) take?

At Fruitport Chiropractic Center, we offer two programs: 6-week and 12-week. Essentially, one treatment appointment each week lasting about
30 to 60 minutes

➤ STEP 1: Each program consists of an initial consultation with one of our Chiropractors. If you are deemed a good case for Nutrition Response Testing®, an In-Body test (provides a comprehensive view of body composition balance) will be done to assess your autonomic nervous system. This non-invasive testing reveals critical clinical data that can help diagnose any possible ailment and help with the treatment.

➤ STEP 2: At your second appointment, we will go over your Report of Findings and work out a treatment plan unique to you.

➤ STEP 3: At your third appointment (which is also your first treatment appointment for your 6- or 12-week program), you'll be handed a Nutrition Diary to complete during the first two weeks of the program.

The purpose of completing a nutrition diary is to track and monitor your dietary habits, food intake, and nutritional patterns over a specific period of time. By documenting everything you eat and drink, along with portion sizes and mealtimes, you gain insight into your eating behaviors and nutritional choices. This helps you and your healthcare provider identify areas for improvement, track progress towards health goals, and make informed decisions about your diet and lifestyle. A nutrition diary can also help identify patterns or triggers related to symptoms or health concerns, making it a valuable tool for promoting overall health and well-being.

Each additional treatment appointment will consist of evaluating the current treatment plan and making any necessary changes as needed through supplementation, dietary changes, changes to your routine, and anything else the Chiropractor feels is important for your health. At the end of the program, another In-Body test will be done so you can see the data on how your body has changed.
